At 65 nm and below, designs that pass traditional sign-off standards might still fail in silicon due to process variations that affect both device characteristics and interconnect. Quartz® SSTA supplements traditional corner-based sign-off methods with powerful and accurate statistical static timing analysis (SSTA) that identifies cells and nets on both clock and data paths that are sensitive to variations. Quartz SSTA then works in conjunction with the Magma IC implementation system to automatically fix timing problems that result from these variations.
